If you've listened to any country music station for just a few hours in the past 40 years, you've probably heard one. A Bobby Braddock penned country music standard. One of those songs just too damn good to die, sung by the likes of George Jones, Tammy Wynette, John Conlee, Tanya Tucker, Toby Keith, Waylon Jennings, Tracy Lawrence, John Anderson, The Statlers, Billy Currington, and scores of others.
Braddock has infused himself into the southern music lexicon so completely, yet nearly anonymously to anyone not in the know on Music Row. Maintaining the longest consecutive songwriter publishing deal ever (over 40 years) is no small feat. Couple that with the fact that Braddock is the only living songwriter to pen at least one Billboard country chart topper in every decade for five decades running, and you begin to get an idea of the impression he's made on the country music genre, and American music in general.
Have a look around and learn a lot about the man, the songwriter, the producer, the author, the legend,
On March 1st, 2011 the Country Music Hall of Fame announced it's inductees for 2011. Braddock has been nominated in the Songwriter category and will be inducted into the Hall of Fame later this year!
